Onboarding with the University Student Information System (Workday)

Beginning in early June, incoming students will receive information by email with instructions to claim their W&L network credentials and W&L email address.  This will also start the process of confirming information within the university student information system, Workday.  Students should carefully read and complete the onboarding steps within Workday, and should continue to monitor their W&L email account throughout the summer for updates from various university offices.  Completion of the Workday onboarding steps is an important university requirement;  failure to complete these steps by July 31 may result in consequences including the withholding of your University ID card.

Disability and Accommodation Requests

The Workday student onboarding process will include information about requesting accommodations. Requests should be submitted as soon as possible so that sufficient time is provided for processing and review of documentation. Students are also encouraged to review our policy, here.

Current Mailing and Email Address

Any changes to the mailing or email addresses on file with Law Admissions prior to July 31 should be submitted by email to LawAdm@wlu.edu. Be sure that the university has a current email and mailing address for you throughout the summer.

Medical Insurance and Health Information

Incoming students to W&L Law must submit a Report of Health History and Physical Examination Form, an Immunization Record, a Tuberculosis Screening Questionnaire and a Health Insurance Information Form.

  • Report of Health History and Physical Examination Form

  • Immunization Record

  • Tuberculosis Screening Questionnaire

  • Health Insurance Information Form

It is your responsibility to provide W&L's Student Health Center with information about your health to protect yourself and the campus community. Washington and Lee will protect the information you provide in accordance with their policy for the privacy of student health information. The documents listed above must be completed and submitted to the W&L Student Health Center no later than July 31. A visit to your healthcare provider is required to complete these forms, so please plan accordingly. Print these forms and take them with you to your appointment, with Medical History and Tuberculosis Screening forms completed. Bring a copy of your complete Immunization Record with you for your provider to review during your visit. Please note that W&L recommends all students to be up to date with COVID-19 vaccination, including primary vaccination and booster doses. Several other immunizations that are important for personal and public health are also required. Students must submit a physical exam performed within the past 12 months.

Health insurance is required for all students, and a University-sponsored student health insurance plan is available to all full-time students. All students must either waive or enroll in this plan each year. Go to the Student Health Insurance website for more information, instructions, and a link to the web site to complete this process. Please complete this by June 30. If you do not complete the on-line waiver form by July 31st, you will be enrolled in the Injury and Sickness Insurance Plan with coverage that begins August 1, and your University account will be billed for the cost of the premium.

Required health forms are due in the Student Health Center by July 31; questions should be directed to StudentHealth@wlu.edu.

Visit the University's Student Health Center website for general information about campus health services, student health insurance options, etc.

Final Transcript

An official final undergraduate transcript must be submitted to LSAC no later than June 30. Your transcript must indicate that you have qualified for your undergraduate degree before registration in August; it is permissible for your degree to be conferred after registration if all other degree requirements are completed.  Please contact lawadm@wlu.edu if your degree will not be conferred until later in the summer and you will be unable to submit a final official transcript by June 30
If you have completed graduate work, we recommend you also provide your graduate school transcripts, but it is not required.

Transfer Students - Law School Transcript

Incoming transfer students should submit an official law school transcript showing their final 1L year grades to LSAC.  Submit this transcript to LSAC no later than June 30.  If it is not possible to submit this transcript by June 30, please contact the Office of Admissions at lawadm@wlu.edu.

Student Tuition Bill and Account Set-Up

Incoming students will receive information from W&L's Business Office around July 15 regarding their bill and accessing their student account.  Additional information will be available from the Business Office website.

Full Legal Name for Registration

Submit your full legal name for the Registrar, including your full legal name as shown in government documents (such as a passport or social security card), by sending it to LawAdm@wlu.edu no later than July 15. Do NOT email copies of government documents.

Parking Pass and Vehicle Registration

W&L's Office of Public Safety will email you in July with details for the process of registering vehicles that will be on campus and purchase of a parking pass. More information about parking can be found here.
