Career Planning Information for Transfer Students
Career Planning and Professional Development ("OCP") welcomes you to W&L Law! On this site you will find information related to our regional interview programs, as well as on-campus interviews. We have provided user guides to Symplicity, our on-line recruitment software, for students who may not be familiar with it. Finally, you will find some general resources, including a sample resume for transfer students and publications from NALP on the upcoming interview season. Please be sure to also consult the OCP web pages for additional resources on resumes, cover letters, interviewing and much more. For questions, or to schedule an appointment, please contact OCP at email@example.com.
Career Planning Advice and Time Line for 2011-2012
Our Planning for Fall Memorandum summarizes the principal Fall recruiting events (note the several early deadlines) and also provides a preview of Spring recruiting.
Recruitment Policies and Procedures
Please read our Recruitment Policies and Procedures, as they may differ from those at your former law school. In addition, the Open Letter from employers will provide you with a better understanding of what employers will expect from you during the recruiting process. Finally, the NALP publication, Student Professionalism During the Interview Season, is a helpful guide to NALP policies, particularly with respect to the maximum number of offers a student may hold and offer deadlines.
Symplicity User Guides
Please refer to the User Guide for the Regional Interview Programs for assistance in using Symplicity to research and apply to employers participating in those programs. Please refer to the General User Guide for assistance in applying to employers participating in on-campus interviewing, including our Charlottesville Interview Program from August 15 - 19. Please note that the application deadline for Charlottesville interviews is August 1st.
