Professor Murchison. His knowledge on everything from Torts to Mass Media Law to Constitutional Law is amazing. His energy and enthusiasm for whatever he is teaching is remarkable, and he is able to convey that to his students. He takes care in making sure that everyone understands the material, and also makes time to answer students' questions – in and out of the classroom. He seems to truly want his students to succeed in whatever branch of law they pursue.
The small town atmosphere. Lexington is a beautiful small town rich in heritage, and close enough to larger cities to have the best of both worlds.
I'm a Law Fellow, a member of the Sports and Entertainment Law Society, and a student member of the University Athletics Committee,
I believe my involvement in all these activities has enriched my experience at W&L. Being a Law Fellow gave me the opportunity to interact with incoming students and help them find their way around Lexington and through the first days of law school. I felt it was important to pass on the information my Law Fellow had given me, and I think the program eases the transition from "normal" life to law school.
During my time in law school I've had the opportunity to work as a Higher Education Work-Study Student in the W&L Athletic Department. Being the legal intern in the Athletic Department has afforded me the opportunity to work during law school in the specific area in which I would like to work after law school. It has drawn me closer to the University as a whole, and given me more opportunities to learn in a non-traditional law school setting. The traditional legal education combined with "hands-on" experience has given experience I could not have otherwise gained.
