Journal of Energy, Climate, and the Environment | Write-On Competition

JECE Staff Writer membership is open to any student of the Washington and Lee University School of Law who is in good standing, who has successfully completed her or his first year of law school, and who successfully participates in the write-on competition.

Returning students will be selected through the write-on process held in conjunction with the writing competition of the other Washington and Lee University journals. New students (transfers, visiting students) will be selected through the supplemental fall semester write-on process.

The essay submissions shall be evaluated based on the substance and organization of the discussion, the clarity of the writing, the grammar, and the relevancy and technical accuracy of the endnotes or footnotes. Other write-on requirements may be imposed at the JECE's discretion.
