Lawton P. Cummings

Biography

Lawton Cummings joined the Washington and Lee faculty in 2007.  Before entering law teaching, Professor Cummings was a litigator at Davis Polk & Wardwell in New York, Slade & Associates in New York, and Wheeler Trigg Kennedy in Denver, and she was judicial law clerk to Federal District Court Judge Peter K. Leisure in the Southern District of New York. 

Professor Cummings teaches courses on legal ethics and criminal law, and her scholarship focuses on the application of moral philosophy to problems of legal ethics that arise in the practice of white collar criminal law and for corporate in-house counsel.
