ISRAEL SUMMER FELLOWSHIPS & ELECTIVES
JEWISH ETHICS AND THOUGHT & ISRAEL EXPERIENCE PROGRAM
Jerusalem, Israel June 26 - July 26, 2007
Based on the success of our Graduate Student Israel Programs over
the past eight years, we are pleased to offer a summer fellowship and
elective. Over sixty graduate schools have participated in NEIJS Graduate
Student Israel Experience programs.
The New England Institute of Jewish Studies, in coordination with the
National Graduate Student Network, is sponsoring a four week summer
program, combining the study of Jewish ethics, Jewish thought,
Israel's ethical challenges, and tours of Israel. The purpose of the
program is to enable graduate students to explore Jewish
approaches to challenging ethical issues confronting US society and
the State of Israel. Compelling seminars on Jewish thought address
contemporary issues facing the Jewish people. The program features
many tours and hikes in Israel.
The faculty features distinguished professors, judges, scientists,
lawyers, executives, ethicists, and Jewish scholars from the U.S. and
Israel. On-site VIP seminars provide first-hand insight into the
Israeli legal, business and scientific environment including the
Knesset, Supreme Court, hi-tech, biotechnology, and multinational
companies.
NEIJS summer programs incorporate the case-study method and qualify
for elective credit. Applications must be submitted via email by
Monday, March 12, 2007.
