Devin Catlin from Charlottesville, Virginia, is a second year law student at W&L. He attended Kenyon College for his undergraduate studies, graduating in 2009 with a degree in Music. While at Kenyon, he was a member of the varsity lacrosse team and Psi Upsilon fraternity. He also spent a semester studying traditional music and culture in Cork, Ireland. After college, and prior to attending law school, Devin worked for Teach For America in the Delta region, serving as a high school math teacher in Indianola, Mississippi. This past summer, he interned for Sneathern & Lhospital in Charlottesville, Virginia. During the year, he works as a graduate assistant for the undergraduate varsity lacrosse team. Outside of school, Devin’s activities include law school football, assisting with the W&L varsity lacrosse team, and playing music. |

Tiffany Eisenbise is originally from Chattanooga, Tennessee and a graduate of the University of Tennessee at Martin. After obtaining her BS in Business Administration, Tiffany traveled the country for a year as a Leadership Consultant for Alpha Delta Pi Sorority. After her travels, Tiffany lived and worked in the Nashville area for a short time before accepting a position at Alpha Delta Pi’s Executive Office and moving to Atlanta, Georgia. As the Campus Services Manager Tiffany once again packed her bags to visit colleges and universities across the country opening new chapters for the sorority. In the 2008-2009 academic year she had the privilege of working on the colonization of the W&L chapter where she was introduced to W&L School of Law. In addition to her role as a Kirgis Fellow, Tiffany also serves as an Honor Advocate at W&L. She continues to be involved in Alpha Delta Pi by serving as the Chapter Advisor. Tiffany interned this past summer for Judge Craig Schwall of Fulton County Superior Court in Atlanta, Georgia. Though still considering all her options, Tiffany is interested in the business and corporate law given her previous work history and undergraduate background. |

Lara Gass is in her second year at Washington and Lee Law. During the summer after her 1L year, Lara interned with Judge John Parkins, Jr. (a W&L Law alum) of New Castle Superior Court in Wilmington, Delaware. Lara is originally from Memphis, TN, but moved with her family to Washington State when she was in middle school. She attended the University of Washington in Seattle where she majored in Political Science and minored in Law, Society and Justice. After graduation, Lara lived in Seattle and worked as a family law paralegal for three years before going to law school. While working, she volunteered at a local legal clinic and stayed active by playing on multiple recreational soccer teams and participating in three half marathons. Lara still enjoys staying active now that she is in law school and will be participating in her fourth half marathon in September. Lara chose W&L Law because of its tight knit community, third-year program and outstanding alumni network. In addition to serving as a Kirgis Fellow, Lara serves as the Southwest Virginia Innocence Project President and the Phi Alpha Delta Charity Auction Chair. |

Kyle Hoffmann is in his second year at Washington and Lee University School of Law. In December 2010, Kyle graduated with a degree in English from the University of Mary Washington in Fredericksburg, Virginia. At Mary Washington, Kyle was the captain and president of his school rugby team, Mother's Rugby, where he won a Virginia state championship. Following graduation, he worked in business development for an aerospace, defense, and security technology company in Arlington, Virginia. For his 1L summer, Kyle worked in the Pentagon as a senior legal intern in the Office of Legal Policy for the Department of Defense. Given his background, he is interested in national security law and international comparative law. He is a Junior Editor for the German Law Journal at Washington and Lee Law. Kyle loves the tight-knit community at W&L Law, and believes that the friendly, collaborative atmosphere makes W&L Law unique among top law schools. Kyle is from Stony Brook, New York, and is the middle of three children. He enjoys travelling, film and television criticism, and the New York Football Giants. |

Christina Rogers is a second year law student at Washington and Lee University School of Law. She is from Houston, Texas and graduated from Vanderbilt University in 2011 with a degree in Political Science and Spanish. While at Vanderbilt, Christina was an editor of the Vanderbilt Political Review and a tutor for Spanish-speaking high school students in the Nashville community. Here at Washington & Lee, Christina is a staffwriter for the Journal of Civil Rights and Social Justice, a member of the Southwest Virginia Innocence Project, and an active participant in law school sports. This past summer, she interned at both the United States Department of Justice in Washington, DC and the First Court of Appeals of Texas in Houston. Christina enjoys W&L because of its small class size and low student to faculty ratio as well as its strong sense of community. Outside of school, Christina likes exploring the Lexington area and following college football. |

Erin Seavoy Erin Seavoy is a 2nd year law student. The first year of law school was her first time officially living outside of Michigan, having grown up in the suburbs of Detroit. She attended Michigan State University where she studied Social Relations and Policy as well as History. She was involved in the MSU Telemarketing program where she became interested in fundraising and lobbying. As an undergrad Erin interned for the MSU Washington DC Office, helping the university lobby the federal government. After law school Erin hopes to combine her law degree with her policy background and work in public interest law. Erin loves spending time in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan; she hikes, kayaks, cross country skies and goes snow shoeing. In undergrad she studied aboard in London and plans to take advantage of W&L’s abroad opportunities. The summer after 1L year Erin returned to Michigan where she interned at the Public Defender’s Office in Ann Arbor. The position gave her an opportunity to help defend indigent individuals accused of crimes. Erin is also a law ambassador for W&L; helping prospective students get a feel for all that W&L has to offer. |

Thomas Short is a second year law student at the Washington and Lee University School of Law. After graduating from Bucknell University in 2008 Thomas spent three years in New York City; one in commercial real estate and two as a litigation paralegal at Boies, Schiller & Flexner LLP. Thomas is not really from anywhere. Thomas was born in South Korea, then lived in Hong Kong—pre handover—Singapore, Indonesia (where Thomas was evacuated out of the country), Hong Kong again—post handover—and then London, where Thomas ultimately graduated from High School. Thomas played soccer, rugby, tennis, and squash in High School and rowed briefly in University. Thomas still enjoys doing any and all of the above whenever possible and particularly enjoys skiing and running. Thomas is interested in both commercial litigation and business law and spent his 1L summer working as a Summer Associate at Boies, Schiller & Flexner LLP in New York." |

Ryan Starks is a 2L from Warwick, NY. In May 2011, he graduated from the University at Albany S.U.N.Y. with a degree in Rhetoric and Communication. Throughout undergrad, Ryan spent his summers interning for Domino Records USA and the Warner Music Group, where he managed new media marketing campaigns for artists ranging from The Arctic Monkeys to The Beastie Boys. In addition, he helped establish the social media marketing department at a boutique music marketing firm in upstate New York, and eventually founded his own social media marketing firm specializing in small business development. Issues in artist rights, music licensing schemes, and distribution models lay at the core of his work which led him to pursue his J.D. Ryan chose to attend W&L because of its community atmosphere, nurturing attitude, and prominent reputation. He is actively involved as a Law Ambassador and a member of the Sports and Entertainment Law Society. This past summer, Ryan interned for in-house counsel at SoundExchange, a non-profit performance rights organization in Washington, D.C. There, he focused on copyright and antitrust litigation, as well as bankruptcy matters. In his free time, Ryan enjoys hiking, golfing, sailing, playing guitar, and exploring new music. |

David Bean graduated from Cornell University in 2007 with a B.A. in History. He then spent two years in Washington, D.C. with Teach For America, working as a high school special education teacher. David spent a third year as a 6th grade mathematics and science teacher at a new charter middle school in Southeast Washington, D.C. During this time he received his Masters of Education from George Mason University. Here at W&L, David is active in several extracurricular activities. He currently serves as the Managing Events Editor of the Journal of Energy, Climate, and the Environment, Mock Trial Administrator for the Moot Court Executive Board, and is a Burks Scholar, teaching first year legal writing. David spent this past summer working for the U.S. Army Judge Advocate General at the U.S. Army Garrison-Schweinfurt in Schweinfurt, Germany. During his previous 1L summer, David worked as a research assistant for Friedman on Leases, a property law treatise. For his 3L year, he will participate in the Prosecutor Externship. During his free time, David enjoys reading, politics, tennis, running, and Chiefs football. |

Tyler Kaido was born and raised in Zanesville, OH. Tyler attended Washington and Jefferson College in Washington, PA, where he majored in history and political science. At W&J, Tyler was a three-year letterman in varsity baseball. After graduation, Tyler worked in the Ohio General Assembly as a Legislative Service Commission Fellow while attending Capital University Law School before transferring to Washington and Lee University School of Law. Tyler has interned in the U.S. House of Representatives on Capitol Hill and has volunteered on both statewide and presidential campaigns. This summer, Tyler will be working for the U.S. Attorney’s Office, Southern District of Ohio, in the criminal prosecution division. Despite splitting time between time between Lexington and Columbus, OH, the majority of Tyler’s family still resides in Zanesville, and he still considers it home. Tyler has one younger brother, Wade, who attends Ashland University in Ohio and a younger stepbrother, Zak, who is in middle school. In his free time, Tyler still remains involved with sports, especially baseball and golf, and will be a Sports Czar at W&L Law for 2012-2013 year. |
