Kyle Hoffmann is in his third year at Washington and Lee University School of Law. In December 2010, Kyle graduated with a degree in English from the University of Mary Washington in Fredericksburg, Virginia. At Mary Washington, Kyle was the captain and president of his school rugby team, Mother's Rugby, where he won a Virginia state championship. Following graduation, he worked in business development for an aerospace, defense, and security technology company in Arlington, Virginia.
For his 1L summer, Kyle worked in the Pentagon as a senior legal intern in the Office of Legal Policy for the Department of Defense. This past summer, Kyle worked for the US Army as a Judge Advocate General intern at Ft. Hood, Texas, conducting research and writing on criminal justice, claims, legal assistance, and administrative law. He will be returning to the Pentagon this autumn as an intern in the Office of General Counsel for the Department of Defense. Kyle hopes to pursue a career in the JAG Corps after graduation.
Kyle is the Justice of Phi Alpha Delta, a Senior Articles Editor for the German Law Journal, and a Head Kirgis Fellow at Washington and Lee Law. Kyle loves the tight-knit community here, and believes that the friendly, collaborative atmosphere makes W&L Law unique among top law schools. Kyle is from Stony Brook, New York, and is the middle of three children.
