Movie Showing:
Thursday, February 25th, 2010 from 7:00-9:00 PM in Classroom A: We will be showing the film "OSAMA." Osama is a Afghanistan's first film since hte rise and fall of the Taliban. The movie tells the story of a young girl who is forced to disguise herself as a boy so she can try to help her mother and grandmother surive by working for the family. The moview portrays the regimes' cruently toward women-- who were not allowed to go outside without a male escort and were forced to wear floor-length veiled dresses called burkas.
