Washington and Lee School of Law Professor Mark Drumbl interviewed by the Croatian national news regarding the judgment of the International Court of Justice in Bosnia v. Serbia, in which the Court found Serbia responsible for failing to prevent genocide in Bosnia in 1995. Mark Drumbl is the director of the Transnational Law Institute at Washington and Lee University, and a guest on the November 28th edition of WINA’s Charlottesville–Right Now. He and Coy Barefoot discuss the many trials Saddam Hussein will need to go through before actually being put to death, as well as how his trial has not helped the country unify. “The trial just isn’t that important for a lot of Iraqis and it certainly isn’t succeeding in curbing sectarian violence.” But Drumbl says that doesn’t mean Saddam Hussein should not continue to be prosecuted.
