Lexington, VA • Friday, July 15, 2005

Lexington , VA - Chris Bullard, 06L, has been selected to serve as national liaison in intellectual property law for the Law Student Division of the American Bar Association. Bullard, former president of the Intellectual Property and Technology Law Society at the Washington and Lee University School of Law, will be the voice of the Law Student Division, appealing to the ABA section of Intellectual Property Law.

“With Chris working on a national level, we can expect to increase the visibility of W&L as an attractive destination for students interested in IP Law while increasing current student awareness of the resources and opportunities available outside of Lexington,” said Andrew Howard ‘07L, current president of the society.

As liaison, Bullard will facilitate communication between the ABA Section of Intellectual Property Law and the Law Student Division.  Whenever the Law Student Division has resolutions or policy interests that will be voted on by the ABA House of Delegates, Bullard may be asked to lobby the ABA Section of Intellectual Property Law to ensure Law Student Division efforts are successful. Additionally, the Law Student Division will rely on Bullard to help increase student involvement and membership.

Because Liaison is a national position, Bullard will be attending Circuit and National Meetings to act as an ambassador of the Division's Liaison Program as well as the ABA Section of Intellectual Property Law.

Added Howard, "Chris's demonstrated excellence in IP continues to be an asset to W&L."
