G. Michael Pace '84
Pace is the managing partner of Gentry Locke Rakes & Moore in Roanoke, where he practices in the areas of business law, banking and finance, commercial real estate, land use and zoning and franchising. He has served on the councils of both the VBA Business Law and Real Estate Sections and has chaired the practice development committee of the VBA Law Practice Management Division.
Pace was instrumental in helping establish a new externship program this semester between the School of Law and Gentry Locke. Spending at least one day a week working as "associates" in the firm, W&L law students are placed in one of four practice groups (Business, Employment, Litigation and Real Estate) and receive actual client-related assignments from members of the practice group. All work is supervised on-site by an attorney-mentor, who devotes substantial time each week to supervising the student, giving feedback, and critiquing student work and work product.
Pace was joined as a member of the VBA leadership by alumnus E. Livingston Haskell '98, who was installed as chair of the VBA's Young Lawyers Division. Haskell, who will also serve on the VBA Board of Governors, is general corporate counsel for Lumber Liquidators in Toano, Virginia.Email This Page
