Where you can post paper signs, fliers, etc:
1. Any designated bulletin boards, including those in the bathrooms on the 2nd and 3rd floors, or easels
2. The staircase leading from the student parking lot, including the glass windows and the doors that lead into and out of this staircase
3. The double wooden doors that lead to Classroom A
4. All carrels
5. The door at the bottom of the staircase leading down from the Main Reading Room
6. The double wooden doors near the CLPC Office
7. The student vending machine area
You may not post paper signs, fliers, anywhere else, including:
1. Any windows with the exception of the windows in the staircase leading from the student parking lot (most windows in the building are specially treated and damage caused by tape costs thousands of dollars to repair)
2. Painted surfaces, including columns, anywhere in the building (with exception of the stairwell)
3. The double wooden doors leading into the Moot Court lobby area
4. The double wooden doors leading into the magazine reading area/Circulation Desk
5. The door leading into the upper stacks or the door leading into the lower stacks from the central staircase (near Westlaw terminals)
6. The double glass doors by the Career Planning Office
7. Any bathroom door or within any bathroom where there is not a bulletin board
8. In or around any classroom entrance, including the classroom hallways
9. On a law school organization's bulletin board unless permitted by that organization
NON-LAW SCHOOL INDIVIDUALS AND ORGANIZATIONS
1. Signs must be approved and date-stamped by the Library Circulation Desk before posting.
2. Signs may only be posted on public (non-law school organization) bulletin boards.
3. Signs may not be posted on student carrels or library doors.
EVERYONE
1. Remove and recycle your notices within 24 hours after the event, speech, meeting, etc.
2. Include an expiration date (the date the event takes place) and source (i.e., club, organization, person) for each posted item.
3. Use masking tape instead of scotch tape to post signs.
4. Signs posted in violation of these guidelines, of other University policies or of law will be removed and recycled.
5. All library staff and custodians will have these guidelines.
6. Violation of this policy may be reported to the Associate Dean for Student Services.
