Hobbies and Interests

The 120 students of the Class of 2023 have a wide variety of background and interests.  Six are members of Phi Beta Kappa, and four are members of Omicron Delta Kappa (ODK). Four have military service experience. Many of the members of the Class of 2023 are musicians or singers. Six students are Eagle Scouts. Nine students already hold graduate degrees prior to enrollment in law school. Students competed at the collegiate level in many sports, including basketball, cross country, equestrian, lacrosse, rowing, soccer, swimming, and tennis.

48% of the incoming students either completed a legal internship or have other law-related work experience, and 24% have experience with a political campaign. Others studied or worked abroad; consistent with this international orientation, members of the Class of 2023 are proficient in a variety of languages including American Sign Language, Arabic, Chinese, Czech, French, German, Hebrew, Igbo, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Latin, Persian, Polish, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish. Among their other skills, interests and life experiences are film, chess, accounting, Korean martial arts (which one student holds a third degree black belt in), a cappella, Irish dance, scuba diving, rock climbing, hosting radio shows, commercial fishing, model railroads, photojournalism, adult dodgeball, distance running (including a student who completed the Boston Marathon), and acting (one student was in the TV show House of Cards).
