About
Astrika Adams is In-House Counsel for Clarke Investments, LLC based in Roanoke, Virginia. A 2015 graduate of Washington and Lee University School of Law, she currently teaches the Mergers and Acquisitions Practicum at the school as a member of the adjunct faculty.
Adams reports to the Chief Legal Officer of Clarke Investments, an energy services company with an asset portfolio of $1.5B, with assets in the coal, iron ore, and oil sectors, focusing on Mergers & Acquisitions of energy and energy-service companies, assets, and liabilities with an emphasis on commercial financing arrangements. In this role, she manages and directs outside legal counsel related to various litigation matters, including contract disputes and personal injury actions utilizing insurance resources, with an emphasis on cost reduction. Adams has extensive experience in negotiating and finalizing deals, including the acquisition of 70+ oil and gas wells in the Gulf of Mexico from a foreign corporation, a commercial shipyard located in Mobile, Alabama, and a joint venture agreement with Australian bio-technology company to acquire an interest in intellectual property rights for high yield gold mining extraction.
Adams worked previously as an associate attorney with Feinman & Associates in Lynchburg, Virginia, and as a lecturer in environmental law and economic policy at North Carolina State University. She is a licensed member of the Virginia State Bar.
