Jennifer Mart-Rice joined the Washington & Lee University School of Law in July 2015. As Head of Collection Services, her primary responsibilities include vendor relations and contract negotiations; all library acquisitions and collection development oversight; maintaining the law library's overall collections budget; licensing, access and promotion of the library's print and digital collections; and a variety of other duties. Jennifer is a member of the teaching team that instructs first year students in their required Legal Research course at Washington & Lee and has taught advanced and basic legal research, legal technology courses, and introductory to college courses in the past.
Jennifer received a B.A. in Political Science and a B.A. in History from Indiana University, a J.D. from Northern Kentucky University and a M.S.L.S. from the School of Information Science at the University of Kentucky. Prior to joining Washington & Lee, she served as an Assistant Professor of Law Library Services and the Assistant Director for Acquisitions, Serials and Collection Development at Northern Kentucky University as well as serving as a Guardian ad Litem for the Dearborn-Ohio County Child Advocates Program in Indiana.
