About
Sheryl Buske joined the Law Faculty in 2018 as the Director of the Legal Writing Program. She teaches legal writing and child law courses.
After law school, Professor Buske was an attorney for the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services in Chicago, the largest child welfare agency in the United States. She began teaching in 1999 and has taught in both American and international law schools.
Professor Buske is passionate about international legal education and has taught in Ireland, Tanzania, South Africa, and Vanuatu. She also served as a Fulbright Scholar to Ghana in 2011-2012 where she taught legal writing and international children's rights, and conducted one of the first comprehensive studies of the lives of the kayayoo (girl porters) in the urban markets.
