Hobbies and Interests

The Class of 2019 is an eclectic group with an array of interests. Many of the members of the Class of 2019 are musicians or singers.  Four volunteered through Americorps, and three are veterans of the armed services.  Six students are Eagle Scouts.  Students competed at the collegiate level in many sports, including baseball, basketball, football, golf, hockey, lacrosse, rowing, sailing, and soccer.

Several students have experience working in Washington, DC, either as congressional interns or staffers. Others studied or worked abroad; countries that Class of 2019 students have visited include Afghanistan, Argentina, Austria, Bermuda, Canada, Chile, China, Costa Rica, Croatia, Ecuador, France, Germany, Greece, Guatemala, Ireland, Italy, Jamaica, Jordan, Peru, Poland, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey, and the United Kingdom.  Consistent with this international orientation, members of the Class of 2019 speak a variety of languages including Arabic, Chinese, French, German, Greek, Japanese, Pashto, Persian, Romanian, Russian, and Spanish.
