Below is additional information regarding our awarding of scholarships to students who did not initially receive an award as part of the admissions process.
After Completion of Second Year:

As the above table documents, on average, for the Law Classes of 2009-12, 20 of the students not initially awarded a scholarship at enrollment received some award after the completion of their second year or an increase to an award they received after their first year. This award or increase was, on average, $4,100 with a median value of $3,000. 17 of these awards/increases were $5,000 or less with a low value of $2,000 and a high value of $10,000.
After Completion of Both First and Second Year
Furthermore, for the Law Classes of 2009-12, of the 29 people who received a scholarship at some point during their time at W&L Law after not receiving an award during the admissions process, 15 of these students not only received an award after their first year but also had that award increased after their second year.
Broken down by class year, for the Law Classes of 2009-12, for those students who did not initially receive a scholarship but were awarded a scholarship after their first year and had that scholarship increased after their second year, the average total amount of their increase was as follows. The median amount for all such increases was $10,000. 10 of these awards had a total value between $5,000 and $10,000, with a low total value of $5,000 and a high total value of $14,000.
