Washington and Lee assists students in financing their legal education through University merit scholarships, educational loans from state, federal and private lenders, and participation in federally-sponsored work and loan programs (Title IV).  There are no need-based grants or scholarships available for law students.

Each year the Office of Financial Aid projects expenditures for law students at Washington and Lee School of Law. The below budget represents a maximum created for the purposes of Financial Aid (and educational loans). When considering projected living expenses, it should be noted it is quite possible to live in Lexington, Virginia for much less than the figure listed below. Furthermore, when comparing the relative costs associated with attending various law schools, students are encouraged to focus on the total cost of attendance and not simply tuition.
