- Justice Lewis F. Powell. Jr., ’29, ‘31L, judged the 1988 Burks Finals.
- William H. Clark, ’60, ‘63L, was the only student to win the Burks Competition twice (1961; 1962).
- Robert W. Ray, ’85L, won the 1984 Davis Competition and judged the 2001 Mock Trial Finals.
- Justice Antonin G. Scalia, then Judge Scalia, judged the 1984 Davis Finals.
- Judge William P. Johnson, ‘85L, won the 1983 Davis Competition and judged the 2002 and 2008 Davis Finals.
- Gary P. Seligman, ’99L, won the 1997 Davis Best Oralist and Best Brief, the last student to win both. Chris K. Kowalczuk, ‘94L, Hyla Flaks, ’87L, and Shawn P. George, ‘81L, also accomplished this.
- Justice Byron R. White judged the 1990 Davis Finals.
- Judge H. Emory Widener, ’53L, judged six Davis Finals, three Burks Finals, and one Mock Trial Final.
- Timothy M. McKeen, ‘06L, the only student to win three competitions, won the 2004 and 2005 Negotiations Competitions and the 2005 Mediation Competition.
- John P. Vita, ’84, ‘88L, won the 1982 Davis Competition and has judged four Client Counseling Finals.
- Chief Justice John G. Roberts, Jr., then Judge Roberts, judged the 2003 Davis Finals.
- Scot A. Duvall, ‘90L, was the only student to win both the Burks Best Oralist and Best Brief (1988).
- Dean S. Brett Twitty, ‘06L, won the 2004 Client Counseling Competition.
- Hyla Flaks, ’87L, won the Davis Best Oralist, Davis Best Brief, and Negotiations Competition in 1985.
