Hobbies and Interests

The 125 students of the Class of 2027 have a wide variety of background and interests. Nine are members of Phi Beta Kappa and five have military service experience. Many of the members of the Class of 2027 are musicians or singers. Seven students are Eagle Scouts. Ten students already hold graduate degrees prior to enrollment in law school. Several of the students already demonstrated serious academic and research interests through completion of honors theses, capstone projects, or serving as a research assistant while completing their undergraduate degrees.  Students competed at the collegiate level in many sports, including Baseball, Cross Country, Lacrosse, Rowing, Soccer, Track & Field, Tennis, and Wrestling.

47% of the incoming students either completed a legal internship or have other law-related work experience, and 23% have experience working in politics or serving with a political campaign. Others studied or worked abroad; consistent with this international orientation, members of the Class of 2027 are proficient in a variety of languages including Ancient Greek, Arabic, Bambara, Cantonese, French, German, Japanese, Korean, Mandarin Chinese, Nepali, Spanish, and Vietnamese. Among their other skills, interests and life experiences are amateur boxing, bassoon, carpentry, certified yoga instructor, chess, commercial pilot, fencing, fly fishing, harmonica, kickboxing, photography, pottery, rafting guide, scuba diver, swing dancing, table tennis, and ultimate frisbee.
