Civil Rights and Racial Justice

Students in the Civil Rights and Racial Justice Clinic will engage in hands-on legal representation and advocacy focused on racial and economic justice, with an initial emphasis on housing discrimination and fair housing rights. The clinic will provide students with the opportunity to represent clients facing unfair housing practices, evictions, and other barriers to stable housing while working to address broader systemic issues in housing law.

Under faculty supervision, students will gain experience in client advocacy, legal research, and litigation strategy while also contributing to the clinic's structure and direction. The clinic will work with community partners, legal aid organizations, and advocacy groups to support individuals and communities affected by housing instability and discrimination. In addition to casework, students will participate in weekly seminars covering legal frameworks, advocacy strategies, and professional development.
