About
Alan Garrison is an attorney with TimberlakeSmith in Staunton, Virginia and co-teaches the Real Estate Transactions Practicum as a member of the adjunct faculty at W&L Law.
Alan's practice focuses on Estate Planning and Administration, Real Estate and Corporate and Business Law. He routinely handles both residential and commercial real estate transactions. He also assists in resolving problems involving land use, HOA matters, and other real estate issues, and provides legal advice related to forming and running limited liability companies and corporations.
Alan has experience drafting complex wills and trusts (both revocable and irrevocable), charitable trusts, advanced medical directives, and health care powers of attorney, and has extensive experience in assisting fiduciaries who administer estates. He also frequently serves as guardian ad litem in actions involving adults.
Alan serves as Commissioner of Accounts for Augusta County. As such, he assists the Augusta County Circuit Court in overseeing fiduciaries who handle property under the Court's supervision. He also serves as Assistant Commissioner of Accounts for the City of Staunton.
