About

Laurie Rachford teaches in the Skills Immersion - Business experiential program at the Washington and Lee University School of Law. As an attorney, she worked for 30 years with the general counsel's office of Exxon Mobil Corportation, based in Houston, Texas.

Rachford also has experience in private practice, working for several years as a corporate and securities attorney with firms in Houston and Washington, DC. Prior to practice, she completed a judicial clerkship with the Hon. H.E. Widner of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit.

Rachford is a member of the Texas Bar and DC Bar. She earned her juris doctor cum laude from W&L Law, and her undergraduate degree with honors from the University of Texas at Austin. Since 2014, Rachford has served as a Trustee of Washington and Lee University, chairing the Board's Law School Committee.
