About

Maria Saez Tatman joined W&L Law in 2023. In her role, she develops and implements programs to enrich the law school experience and to help law students succeed in school, personally, and professionally. She provides leadership and management in all areas of student life and culture.

Prior to joining W&L Law, Saez Tatman was Dean of Students and Director of Diversity and Inclusion at the University of Tennessee College of Law. Previously, she served as Associate Dean of Student Services at the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law in New York City and as the Assistant Dean of Career Planning and Professional Development at the University of Oregon School of Law. Before entering academia, she practiced law for nearly ten years, focusing on management-side labor and employment law, health law, and medical malpractice.

Saez Tatman serves on committees with the Association of American Law Schools and the National Association of Law Student Affairs Professionals. She also serves on the Board of Trustees for LeaderShape, Inc., a not-for-profit organization that partners with colleges and universities to provide leadership learning experiences for people to explore their values, what they care about and how they can contribute to change in the world.
