About

Kari Munro is Acting Director of the Tax Clinic and Professor of Practice at the Washington and Lee University School of Law. She previously served as an Assistant United States Attorney for the Western District of Virginia, representing the United States in criminal prosecutions involving white collar crime, tax, narcotics, and violent crime.

Ms. Munro previously served as an Assistant Commonwealth's Attorney for Virginia, based in Charlottesville, where she prosecuted criminal matters before the Circuit Court, Juvenile and Domestic Relations District Court, and the General District Court for Albemarle County.

In private practice, Ms. Munro was an attorney with Virginia Trial and Appellate Briefing LLC in Roanoke and a litigation associate with LeClair Ryan PC in Richmond. She has also served as a Visiting Assistant Professor of Business and Economics at Hollins University, teaching courses in business management, law and ethics, finance, and entrepreneurship.

Ms. Munro is a licensed member of the Virginia State Bar and is admitted to practice before the U.S. District Court and Bankruptcy Court for the Western District of Virginia, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit, and the Virginia Supreme Court.
