About
Professor Joan M. Shaughnessy joined Washington and Lee in 1983. She is the Roger D. Groot Professor of Law, and was the recipient of the John W. Elrod Law Alumni Association Fellow in Teaching Excellence, 2003-04. Her teaching and research focus on civil procedure, complex litigation, evidence, federal courts, and jurisprudence.
She is admitted to practice in New York and Virginia.
