Professionalism & Networking in the Law seeks to prepare Washington and Lee University School of Law students for the professional, social, and networking environments they will encounter throughout their legal careers. The organization provides students with practical opportunities to develop professional etiquette, networking skills, interpersonal communication, and an understanding of professional expectations within the legal field. Through networking events, attorney and alumni engagement, professional-development programs, and community partnerships, the organization will help students build confidence and meaningful professional relationships.

The organization also recognizes that alcohol is frequently present at professional and networking events within the legal profession. Accordingly, it will provide education regarding responsible engagement with alcohol, beverage etiquette, and navigating social settings where alcohol may be served, while offering non-alcoholic alternatives and emphasizing that alcohol consumption is never required. The organization will also promote awareness of alcoholism and substance misuse in the legal profession through educational programming, encouraging responsible decision-making, professionalism, and well-being throughout students' legal careers
